Our preschool is a purpose built facility located within the school grounds. Skilled staff work in partnership with families, to ensure all children are provided with opportunities to develop and learn in a safe, supporting and inclusive environment. A child-centered program based upon the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) – ‘Belonging, Being & Becoming’ is delivered to all children.
At Reynella East Preschool, we choose to respect children and foster their learner agency, empowering them to make decisions, share ideas, feel a sense of safety and belonging and promote their ability to be flexible learners. Our aim is to develop children’s dispositions for learning and build on their pre-existing skills through play-based learning, that correlate with the Early Years Learning Framework Outcomes and the Literacy and Numeracy Indicators. We believe in the environment as the third teacher after families and educators and in turn ensure the environment is set up in a way that provides flexible access, is engaging, and responsive to children’s interests. Educators engage in continuous learning and critical reflection and consider feedback from children, families and the community.
